Children and Family: God's Design, Our Responsibility

In a world that is constantly redefining family, we must return to God's original design. Children are not accidents, burdens, or possessions -- they are a gift and a responsibility from the Lord.

God's Design for Family (குடும்பத்திற்கான கடவுளின் திட்டம்)

God established the family before the church, before the government, before any institution. The family is His primary vehicle for discipleship.

"And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up." — Deuteronomy 6:6-7 (NKJV)

Faith is not only taught in Sunday school -- it is caught at home.

Our Responsibility as Parents (பெற்றோர்களாகிய நமது பொறுப்பு)

1. Bring Them Up in the Lord (கர்த்தருக்குள் வளர்க்கவும்)

"And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord." — Ephesians 6:4 (NKJV)

2. Model Faith, Don't Just Teach It (விசுவாசத்தை போதிக்க மட்டுமல்ல, வாழ்ந்து காட்டுங்கள்)

Children learn more from what they see than what they hear. A parent who prays, forgives, and trusts God teaches more than a hundred sermons.

3. Create a Home of Love and Safety (அன்பும் பாதுகாப்புமான வீட்டை உருவாக்குங்கள்)

The home should be a place where children experience God's love through their parents' love -- unconditional, patient, and consistent.

4. Discipline with Wisdom (ஞானத்துடன் சிட்சியுங்கள்)

"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." — Proverbs 22:6 (NKJV)

Discipline is not punishment -- it is guidance. It requires understanding each child's nature and directing them toward God's purpose.

Application (செயல்படுத்துதல்)

• Is your home a place where faith is lived, not just spoken about?
• Are you investing in your children's spiritual formation as much as their education?
• Pray for your children by name daily. There is no greater investment.
