Privacy Policy

Last updated 16 October 2026. This covers goodsamaritans.org.in, the member portal at portal.goodsamaritans.org.in, and the Good Samaritan Mission app for Android and iOS.

Who we are

Good Samaritan Mission is a church in Keelapavoor, Tenkasi District, Tamil Nadu. We keep only what we need to serve the congregation, and we never sell or rent anyone's information.

The mobile app

You can use the app without an account. It stores:

  • A random device code and a notification token. These let us send the notifications you switch on (announcements, live service alerts, daily prayer points) in the language you choose. They are not linked to your name.
  • Your “Amen” taps on prayer points, counted against that device code so the total is accurate. No name is attached.
  • Prayer requests you send, with the name and optional phone number you type. These go only to the church's prayer team, are never shown publicly in the app, and you can mark a request anonymous.

Sermons and live services play through YouTube inside the app. YouTube's own privacy policy applies to that playback.

The member portal

Church staff keep membership records (names, family details, contact numbers, and dates such as baptism) in the portal so we can care for members. Only authorised church leaders can see them, and identity or medical details are restricted further. Members can ask to see or correct their record at any time.

YouTube access

The portal connects to the church's own YouTube channel with read-only access, to list our services and sermons, including unlisted ones, for the app. It does not read anyone else's YouTube data and cannot change anything on YouTube. Use of this data follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. The channel owner can revoke access at any time from their Google account.

This website

The contact form sends your message to the church office by email. We use it only to reply to you.

Where data is kept and for how long

Data is stored on servers we manage, protected by access controls and encrypted connections. Notification tokens are removed when the app is uninstalled or stops responding. Prayer requests and membership records are kept while they are useful for pastoral care, and deleted on request.

Your choices

  • Turn any notification type off in the app's settings.
  • Uninstall the app to remove its device code and token.
  • Ask us to show, correct or delete anything we hold about you.
