Peace is one of the most precious gifts God offers His children. Yet it can be stolen so easily -- not by dramatic events, but by two quiet enemies that work from within: pride and fear.

Scripture shows us three dimensions of God's peace:

Peace like a river through heeding God's commands:

"Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: 'I am the Lord your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you by the way you should go. Oh, that you had heeded My commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.'" — Isaiah 48:17-18 (NKJV)

Great peace through love for God's Word:

"Great peace have those who love Your law, and nothing causes them to stumble." — Psalm 119:165 (NKJV)

Pride is the exaltation of self above God. It says, "I know better. I can handle this. I don't need help."

"God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble." — James 4:6 (NKJV)

When pride rules, we lose peace because:

We carry burdens God never intended us to bear alone
We refuse to ask for help -- from God or others
We become defensive and easily offended
We compare ourselves with others and become restless

Pride isolates us from the very Source of peace.

How Fear Steals Peace (பயம் சமாதானத்தை எவ்வாறு திருடுகிறது)

Fear is the opposite of trust. It says, "God might not come through. What if things go wrong?"

"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." — 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)

Fear robs peace because:

It magnifies problems and minimizes God
It paralyzes us from acting in faith
It creates anxiety about things that may never happen
It makes us doubt God's goodness and sovereignty

The Antidote: Humility and Trust (மாற்று மருந்து: தாழ்மையும் நம்பிக்கையும்)

The cure for pride is humility -- acknowledging that God is God and we are not.

The cure for fear is trust -- believing that the God who holds the universe holds our lives too.

Application (செயல்படுத்துதல்)

This week, examine your heart:

Where is pride preventing you from surrendering to God?
Where is fear preventing you from trusting Him?
Bring both to God in prayer and exchange them for His peace.
